Are UK-based ePharmacies Soon to Face Tougher Regulations?
According to the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the government is now considering ideas from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to fix regulatory loopholes in online prescribing in ePharmacies. The CQC made legislative amendment suggestions to the DHSC in April 2021 to address "safety gaps" in online prescription, particularly the loophole that enables foreign-based online providers to operate outside the scope of UK regulation. The General Pharmaceutical Council supports this initiative.

Kenyan ePharmacy MYDAWA Created the First End-to-End Virtual Healthcare Solution for HIV Patients
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has given $1.2Μ to Kenyan ePharmacy MYDAWA to develop the country's first telehealth program specifically designed for HIV prevention. For consumers who want to access Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) online, the business also announced that it has created the first end-to-end virtual healthcare solution. The University of Washington and the Kenya Medical Research Institute have approved MYDAWA's new service.

Douglas Just Announced its New CEO, Müller Steps Down
German-based perfume, cosmetics & pharma retailer Douglas has named Sander van der Laan, a senior executive for 16 years at Ahold Delhaize , as its new CEO. He is the ideal candidate to lead Douglas because of his considerable managerial experience in the retail industry and his great track record in influencing sales, marketing, supply chain management, and digitization. Former CEO, Müller, departs after successfully redefining Douglas' strategy and managing the company's development into Europe's top digital premium beauty platform.
