Amazon Is Now Entering the Drug Discount Market Putting Other Drug Discount Platforms at Risk!

Amazon Pharmacy will be launching an Rx discount savings card to Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health plans. This new card will be handled by InsideRx, the Rx discount platform, and distributed by Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). Amazon also distributes an Rx savings card that is only available to Prime members and can save them up to 80% on medications without an insurance. This new partnership could indicate a new era of Rx discount offerings in the pharmaceutical market.

Which Brazilian ePharmacy Aims to Address the Medication Adherence Problem & Disrupt the Sector?

Pill Farmácia Digital, a Brazilian startup, focuses its sales 100% on digital channels, using the dark pharmacy concept to provide individualized services from pharmacists, lower pricing than physical stores, and free delivery of up to 1 hour. The company seeks to address one of the segment's biggest problems, known as medication adherence, with a program of scheduled purchases of pharmaceutical products, in which the delivery of the products is determined by the patient at the agreed-upon frequency.

Should Pharmacies Lure Consumers with Sweepstakes? The Dutch ePharmacy DocMorris Case

The Dutch ePharmacy DocMorris announced a nationwide raffle with a flyer in March 2015, with the grant prize being a €2,500 eBike. In order to participate in this competition, you had to provide your prescription to the ePharmacy. Following a case brought by the North Rhine Chamber of Pharmacists, the Federal Court of Justice has finally restricted DocMorris from hosting such a competition again, since customers might be getting prescriptions, without actually needing them, just to enter the competition.

Egyptian-Based Chefaa Secures Funding to Continue Innovating in the ePharmacy Industry!

Chefaa, the Egyptian ePharmacy startup that offers end-to-end healthcare, has raised an undisclosed amount to expand its network and enter new markets. The funding will also be used to support the launch of Chefaa Prime, a comprehensive medical insurance solution for emerging markets. This round of funding will allow the company to scale its business models while also allowing the company to capitalize undiscovered market opportunities.

BOOM: 10.9B Visits Were Recorded in ePharmacies Across the Globe During 2021

According to Convert Group’s latest study, global ePharmacy visits increased by a 25.7% Y-o-Y increase during 2021, totaling 10.9B visits. As the ePharmacy industry appears to be one of the fastest growing eCommerce ecosystems, global eCommerce behemoths are battling for market supremacy. With a +68.3% Y-o-Y increase, North America had the most online visits, and Mexican-based ePharmacy Prixz was the fastest-growing ePharmacy in the world, with a visit growth rate of +1218%!
