New Legal Basis for Online Prescription of Medication to Benefit Dutch ePharmacies
The Dutch Minister of Public Health, Ernst Kuipers, is preparing a bill that would allow healthcare providers to prescribe medication during or after online consultations. While the law currently requires a prescriber to meet the patient in person before prescribing medication, Kuipers has issued a policy rule to allow prescribing during or after online consultations if no physical examination is required and the prescriber has the patient's current medication information. This change will benefit ePharmacies by making it easier for patients to receive prescriptions online, improving accessibility to care.

Save up to 56%: Brazilian ePharmacy Purchases Cheaper than In-Store
According to a survey on pharmacies in Salvador, buying Rx meds online in Brazil might be up to 56% less expensive compared to physical pharmacies.The most recent survey shows all the best-selling Rx drugs in Brazil are available for a lower average price online, including Xarelto, which is 56% cheaper online, and Ozempic, which is also cheaper by about 9%. Cheaper pricing is a result of a sales strategy adopted in pharmacies that includes lower prices online. The percentage rise this year in the cost of meds was 5.6%, according to the Union of the Pharmaceutical Products Industry (Sindusfarma).

Dr. Max Launches Omnichannel Campaign Across Italy to Boost Online and Offline Presence
The second iteration of "Beauty Days" by pharmacy chain Dr. Max in Italy has begun, giving 14 days of special discounts on the top cosmetic brands in more than 50 locations nationwide and online. An omnichannel approach, including radio stations, billboards, internet and social media, and an out-of-home campaign, will be used to promote the campaign. Through the opening of more than 50 pharmacies in the major cities, Dr. Max hopes to boost growth in Italy, both offline and online.

Over 100 European ePharmacies Exposed for Sharing Customers' Private Information with Facebook
Over 100 European ePharmacies have been discovered to share their customers’ purchases with Facebook, including data such as their email addresses and phone numbers. The sharing is done via a tracking tool called a pixel that pharmacies use without customers’ approval. Such sharing is illegal under the EU’s GDPR. Meta, Facebook’s owner company, has stated that advertisers may not share such information, but EU Member of Parliament, Paul Tang, has called on Facebook to report itself to data protection authorities in each country.
