Which ePharmacy StartUp Seeks to Unite the Best Italian Pharmacies?
1000Farmacie is an Italian online marketplace that claims to bring together the best pharmacies, providing an eMarket that users can purchase medications with one click. The startup was able to include 80 pharmacies across Italy, reaching an average of over 15K clients monthly, thanks to the pandemic, which, according to IQVIA, increased ePharmacies sales by +51.5% from June 2020 to May 2021. 1000Farmacie has developed a concept that does not require inventory and meds can be delivered fast and affordably. BOOM: A Brand-New Anti-Counterfeit ePharmacy Platform & Policy Is Rolled-Out in Ghana!
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana's Vice-President, introduced a new ePharmacy policy and guideline for medicine dispensing in the country. To prevent the spread of counterfeit medicines, the policy, which will be implemented in March, will have a direct link with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA). When fully operational in 2022, the ePharmacy platform is intended to alter access to pharmaceutical care in the country and enable the public to obtain medicines from accredited pharmacies.

Will Indian eCommerce Platform JioMart Outperform Amazon and Flipkart in Terms of ePharmacy Sales?
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries' controller, claimed earlier this year that Reliance Retail will expand at least 3 times in the next 3 to 5 years. In August 2020, the company acquired a controlling stake in the Indian ePharmacy Netmeds, and since then has been digitalizing the ePharmacy delivery company's wholesale business, using the eCommerce platform JioMart. This platform is actually building a marketplace to compete with eCommerce behemoths like Walmart-owned Flipkart and Amazon. We'll have to wait and see how this new venture turns out.

According to Feltens, the importance of ePrescription for the digitization of the German healthcare system and Shop Apotheke’s growth is crucial. Revenues reached €1B last year following the IPO. Now Feltens wants to attain the next billion in sales as quickly as possible. The epidemic provided a lift, but he believes that shoppers would have switched from physical to online anyway.
