Thanks to ePrescription’s Rollout in Germany ePharmacies Can Now Serve Patients More Efficiently
The gradual rollout of the ePrescription has already begun in Germany, and patients may now obtain their RX meds more easily. The ePrescriptions code is transferred from the doctor's office to the Gematik, the national agency for digital medicine, and can be provided to the pharmacy by phone. If the pharmacy has a courier service, the prescription can be ordered using the app without visiting the store. The original prescription document is no longer required for ePharmacies as the ePrescription will be digitally communicated to them.

Is it Necessary for the Britain General Pharmaceutical Council to Enact New Regulations for ePharmacies?
According to Professional Standards Authority (PSA) officials, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK would benefit from increased regulatory powers to properly regulate ePharmacies and large businesses. As ePharmacies are now growing rapidly, more legislation would actually assist their monitoring. Since March 2019, the GPhC has taken enforcement action against over 50 ePharmacies in response to patient safety concerns regarding their practices.

The Chairman of the Japanese Pharmacy Association Doesn’t View Amazon’s Entrance as a Serious Threat to Local Players
The chairman of the Japanese Pharmacy Association (NPhA) stated that US-based Amazon will collaborate with small and medium-sized pharmacies to enter the Japanese online sales of Rx meds. According to him, there are several things that local ePharmacies can do to combat this newly faced threat. Furthermore, he expressed faith in the power of physical pharmacies that offer the family pharmacist service and stated that he doesn’t view Amazon as a threat. What will actually happen when Amazon joins the market is yet to be seen.

Korea Is Taking Action and Prohibiting the Sale of Medications Online Despite The Sector’s Global Growth
The Ministry of Food and Medicine Safety (MFDS) and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association declared that the online sale of medication is illegal and notified over 22K pharmacies across Korea accordingly. They advised people that they shouldn’t acquire their meds online and instead visit hospitals and pharmacies to purchase and utilize them according to the doctor's prescription and the pharmacist's guidelines. When ePharmacies are quickly expanding throughout the world, do you believe this action could prevent Korea’s future sector growth?

According to Convert Group’s recent study, the global population continues to visit ePharmacies with an astonishing 5.8B visits being recorded in the first 6 months of 2022 across 94 countries. As the ePharmacy industry appears to be one of the fastest growing in the planet, global eCommerce behemoths, like Amazon, are vying for market dominance. Australia and New Zealand experienced the most growth in those months, with +29.9% online visitors, followed by Southern Asia (+25.7%) and Sub-Saharan Africa (+17.1%).
