Will Italian-based Hippocrates Holdings Utilize Its €415M Newly Secured Funds To Booster-shot Its ePharmacy Business?
Hippocrates Holding, an Italian pharmacy group managed by French private equity firm Antin Infrastructure Partners, completed a €250M capital round while also acquiring a €165M credit line from Intesa Sanpaolo, BancoBpm, and Natixis. In 2021, the company reached €370M revenues, with a profit margin of 15% to 16%. The target now is to attain a turnover of €500M in 2022 and a network of over 500 pharmacies by 2026, owing to the increased resources.

Brazilian ePharmacies Are Likely to Continue Their Unprecedented Boom in the Post-Pandemic Era!
According to a new research conducted in Brazil, almost 78% of Brazilians purchased medicine online, at least once a month, using pharmaceutical delivery services in 2021. Over 90% of the responders reported that the pandemic increased their internet purchases. During the pandemic, 55% of Brazilians purchased medicine online on a daily or weekly basis and this is not expected to change in the post-pandemic times. Based on the findings, one of the main drivers for this boost in online sales is to save time and money.
