Is Amazon ePharmacy Perceived as the Greatest Threat for Spanish Pharmacists?
As it appears, the online sector is gaining more ground in the recent years becoming a great rival for physical pharmacies. Based on a new research by 2020-2021 Barometer published by IM Farmacias and Shoppertec, 73% of the pharmacists surveyed agree that Amazon is a major competitor for their pharmacy. Following Amazon, giant ePharmacies like Mifarma and Dosfarma are also viewed as rivals by 66% of the questioned candidates since they serve a great portion of the Spanish market.

As it appears, automated processes and robots might be able to alleviate the challenges that ePharmacy owners experience, like personnel issues and salary pressure, limited storage space and accidents or errors in fulfilling orders. Indian ePharmacy Netmeds Introduces Subscription and Wholesale Services
While the ePharmacy market in India has seen tremendous increase in consumer's demand and has piqued the interest of investors and major corporations, the Reliance-owned ePharmarcy platform Netmeds has launched a subscription and wholesale services. Additionally, RIL's ePharmacy unit expanded its product offering and opened 20 new distribution centres and during the company's Q4 '21 earnings conference, it was stated that hyperlocal distribution in pharma is one of their major focuses. What can we expect from a giant corporation like this in the following years?

Walgreens Boots Alliance’s Sales Continuously Increase in Q4 ‘21
When it comes to US’ Walgreens Boots Alliance, its pharmacy sales increased by 6.7%, while comparable pharmacy sales, which include both online and offline purchases, rose 8.9% in Q4 ‘21 vs the previous year. Additionally, total prescriptions filled rose by 8.6% to 313M in Q3 '21. Online and Offline Sales at Walgreens increased by 8.1% compared to the same period last year, while Boots' online sales in the fourth quarter more than doubled compared to pre-COVID levels.
