Walgreens Partners with DoorDash & Uber for Free Same Day Rx Delivery of HIV Meds in the US

Walgreens has partnered with DoorDash and Uber to offer free same-day delivery of HIV meds. Eligible patients within 15 miles of participating Walgreens pharmacies across the US can access the service, which supports the country’s HIV/AIDS strategy to reduce new HIV infections by 75% by 2025 and 90% by 2030. According to Uber’s Head of Global Social Impact, Julia Paige,  this collaboration seeks to lower access barriers so that individuals in need can have their meds delivered straight to their door at no cost.

Estonian ePharmacies Continue to Maintain Popularity in the Post-pandemic Scenery

Estonian ePharmacies continue to retain the market share gained during the pandemic, with their share of total pharmacy sales remaining high even after the pandemic has ended. Statistics from the State Agency of Medicines (SAM) show that the share of online sales was 2.2% in the Q4 of 2022. ePharmacies offer Rx meds, OTCs, OTC veterinary medicines and other pharmacy products.

UK-based Lloydspharmacy Cuts Losses Due to Impressive Online Growth in 2021/22

Lloydspharmacy has announced impressive growth in its online business, which helped it reduce losses, despite a 3.4% drop in overall turnover to £1.7Β. The company's website saw a 28% growth in 2021/22, Lloydspharmacy Online Doctor a 3% growth, and LloydsDirect a 55% growth, according to the report. Although the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenging government funding model for community pharmacy in the UK put great strain on the sector, the company's online growth was a significant positive, helping improve its financial position.

Shop Apotheke’s CEO Stefan Feltens to Step Down for Personal Reasons

German-based Shop Apotheke’s CEO, Stefan Feltens, is about to step down from his position for personal reasons after four years in the role. Feltens will not be available for another term at the Annual General Meeting on April 26th, but will remain with the group until the end of May. The supervisory board is already searching for his successor from outside the company. Under Feltens' tenure, the number of Shop Apotheke's customers tripled to 9.3Μ and sales increased from €500Μ to €1.2Β.
