Online sales at Britain's ePharmacy Superdrug Soar by Over 50% Above Pre-pandemic Levels
The parent company of UK-based Superdrug, AS Watson, reports that following a year in which both its eCommerce and multichannel services increased, its most recent financial year's online sales were over 50% higher than in pre-pandemic 2019. The RXUK Top500 research ranked health and beauty retailer claims that its Online Doctor and eNHS healthcare channels, as well as multichannel offerings like in-store ordering for home delivery and two-hour home delivery, all contributed to development.

Amazon’s Senior Executive Just Signed to Lead the Growth of The US-based ePharmacy Alto
Alto Pharmacy, a US-based startup backed by SoftBank, just appointed Alicia Boler Davis, a senior Amazon executive, as its new CEO. In 13 cities, Alto provides free Rx delivery, allowing its patients to interact with pharmacists. It also identifies the most affordable prices by looking for copay cards, discounts, and other choices. Automated procedures, one of the tools Alto provides to the tens of thousands of doctors it works with, can cut down on the amount of time the typical doctor spends handling prescriptions.

Malaysian ePharmacy Alpro Warns Against Using Rx Meds Bought Through Online Marketplaces
Alpro Pharmacy, a Malaysian pharmacy chain, has issued a warning to the general public on the use of controlled meds obtained online through marketplaces. The chief pharmacist and director of engagement at the ePharmacy, emphasized that no social media or online marketplace presently has authorisation from the Ministry of Health to sell restricted medications as such sales require prescriptions from physicians. The majority of restricted medications available online are obtained illegally, sometimes through parallel imports.

Which 5 ePharmacies Are Included in Mexico’s Top 50 Online Stores List?
According to a recent eCommerceDB research Farmacias del Ahorro, the biggest Mexican ePharmacy, saw a 95% rise in revenue in 2021 vs 2020 and a more than 1,000% growth since 2019. Similar growth rates can be seen in the other 4 ePharmacies included in the list in 2021 vs 2020: Farmacia San Pablo (+127%), Farmacias Guadalajara (+74%), Prixz (+33%), and Farmalisto (+32%). The fastest-growing region, according to Convert Group’s Q1’21 study, was North America, where the number of visits to ePharmacies more than doubled between the two quarters.

Ghana’s National ePharmacy Platform Has Finally Been Launched
The National Electronic Pharmacy Platform (NEPP), a mobile application that will allow Ghanaians to purchase authorized medications remotely by making an order, has been launched, according to the vice president of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia. The new ePharmacy aims to make ordering medication faster, easier and more cost-effective. Additionally, it would provide Ghanaians access to prescription medications that they previously had to pay outrageous amounts for or travel long distances to obtain.
