What New ePharmacy Services Malaysian Alpro Pharmacy Brings to the Market?
Malaysian Alpro Pharmacy has introduced new ePharmacy services including free online consultations with certified pharmacists and same-day fast delivery for everyone who needs it, in order to be more convenient for consumers, minimize crowds, and avoid cross-infection during the pandemic times. After the consumer receives their medication, the pharmacist in charge contacts them to further explain possible issues that require attention for the medication. What a great new initiative!

The International Pharmaceutical Federation Calls for Global Regulation of ePharmacies
As ePharmacies’ legislations differ around the globe, the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) calls for global collaboration. According to a new FIP study across 79 countries, when it comes to the online sale of OTCs and Rx meds, different regulations are applied per country. Generally, OTCs are mostly bought through local pharmacies with a mail-order license (61%), but they can also be obtained through independent ePharmacies (15%). On the other hand, Rx meds can only be dispensed through local pharmacies with a mail-order license in 41% of the countries examined, while in over ⅓ of the countries the online sale of them is prohibited.

BOOM: +189 Brand-New Italian ePharmacies Have Emerged During 2021!
The pandemic has significantly boosted ePharmacy all around the world. Italy saw a further increase in the number of approved pharmacies, with a total of 1,331 online shops currently selling medications during 2021. In comparison to 2020, +189 businesses were granted permission to offer medications online in 2021. In the Q4’ 21, compared to the preceding nine months, +27 stores have been authorized to sell online, representing an almost 50% decline from those permitted in the Q2’ 21 alone (+61).

Sweden’s Largest ePharmacy’s Warehouse Opens Its Doors for a Detailed Tour!
Apotea, Sweden's largest ePharmacy, was once known as Familjeapoteket AB before being rebranded in 2012 when Pär Svärdson took over the company and transformed it. The company's warehouse is 38,000 square meters in size and is located in Morgongava. Pär Svärdson states that the warehouse's automation level is now at 75%, and he is aiming to raise it even more. Sweden’s colossus ePharmacy, sends out over 40,000 shipments throughout the country daily from this warehouse.

What New Legislations Has the EU Announced Against Counterfeit in ePharmacies?
A new law has been introduced in the EU to combat medicine counterfeit, which is an alarming phenomenon in recent years. This regulation also creates new requirements for ePharmacies that are already licensed to sell meds, in order to easily distinguish them from illegal ones. More specifically, the webpages utilised by ePharmacies are obliged to report the contact details of the authority that permitted the online sale and to display an identification logo, which is to be used by all EU Members, on every page of their website that presents medicines.
