Russian ePharmacies Received Over 101M Online Orders in 2021 Continuously Growing Their Popularity
According to Data Insight’s latest report, in 2021, over $2.6M worth of pharma products were sold online in Russia, with the number of e-orders being up 30% from 2020. Additionally, 63% of the respondents purchased meds both online and offline and were defined as omni-shoppers. The report also raised the observation that ePharmacies' primary rivals are local pharmacies, which are often more convenient for patients. Finally, the online sector is expected to soar even further, with 94% of responders continuing to buy meds online.

Latvian ePharmacy Mēness Aptieka Partners With Wolt Delivery to Increase The Availability of Its Products
Latvian Mēness Aptieka is now, for the first time, using the services of the global delivery service business Wolt, to get pharmaceutical products delivered directly to consumers' homes. Various pharmaceutical supplies may be easily chosen and bought using the Wolt mobile app, with distribution taking 20 to 40 min. Additionally, apart from purchasing pharmaceutical products, customers may now consult online with a licensed pharmacist or purchase gift cards thanks to the expanded delivery options.

Investors are Eyeing Africa’s ePharmacy Industry Expansion Despite Slow Consumer Uptake
African ePharmacies are attracting attention from investors and regulators, with the largest ever equity and debt fundraising by an African company in the ePharmacy value chain being disclosed by Ghanaian ePharmacy mPharma in January ($35M). A hint that commercial investors are interested in this market is the fact that the majority of funding for African ePharmacies originates from equity rather than loans or grants. However, customers are not yet obtaining OTC and Rx medications in substantial quantities from ePharmacies.

Royal Mail Partners with British ePharmacy Pharmacy2U to Offer Quick Delivery of Rx Meds
To distribute NHS prescriptions to patients in the UK, ePharmacy Pharmacy2U collaborates with the British delivery service Royal Mail. Patients who register online or through the Royal Mail Health app will now receive the service free of delivery fees from the postal agency's new health division. The launch of the new service coincides with the UK prescription market's 3.5% annual growth and the fact that 5% of prescriptions are already being filled online.
