Leaked Footage: Will Amazon Redefine the Medical Industry Once and for All?
According to Andy Jassy’s, Amazon's CEO, leaked company internal meeting audio recording, the company intends to reshape the medical industry. Patients and doctors will be able to connect more easily via texts and video chats thanks to Amazon Care, Rx meds will be mailed and medical assistants could be dispatched to consumers' homes to conduct tests and collect lab samples in some places. Additionally, in order to stay up with retail pharmacies, Amazon is considering introducing pharmacies in Whole Foods stores as well as a self-service pharmacy network.

BOOM: 4 out of 10 Spanish Shoppers Purchase OTCs Online and the Number is Constantly Rising!
According to a recent Elogia Pharma study, 4 out of 10 Spanish consumers (44%) now purchase OTC medications from ePharmacies. According to this survey, the digital channel is becoming more essential in the OTC purchasing process, with 56% of responders saying they would 'certainly' or 'probably' purchase OTCs from Amazon, if it sold them online. Additionally, more than half of those surveyed spend more than €25 in the online channel for self-consumption health items.

The Kenyan Pharmacy and Poisons Board Pushes for New Regulations for ePharmacies
As ePharmacies in Kenya are on the rise, the Kenyan Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has recommended a totally fresh set of rules to regulate them. The prior guidelines do not cover health services provided online, hence they now increase the bar by aligning local rules with international standards. Moreover, anyone posting pharmaceutical advertisements on the internet should seek permission from the PPB because if the ads aren't carefully prepared, they could contribute to mass misuse of the medicines.

UK-based ePharmacies distributed almost 53M items in 2021, according to NHS Business Services Authority data, rising 301% from the 13M items dispensed in 2016. This huge growth was also boosted in 2020, mainly by the COVID-19 pandemic, as the number of distributed products soared by 45%. How much growth will British ePharmacies continue to drive, in comparison to retail pharmacies, in the post-pandemic scenery?
